Ornella was on the pitch broom under hand, quietly confident. It would be here, that in a couple of weeks she would face up to her fears, and play her first match of the season. Her fears? That she would play badly, let in all manor of goals, and get booed of the pitch by her own side. Well she hoped it would never happen, but they way she sometimes lost concentration in the middle of a practice was odd - i t was like someone had put a curse or hex on her, or something... yet she couldn't think of someone that wanted her to fail that badly. She carried on however, undeterred by the fading light and Windy conditions - It was now or never, as her week appeared fully booked, and the next chance she would be out here would be team practice, and she needed a little time to herself before training with them again. She'd let her mind wander a bit too far last time... That Slytherin boy didn't help matters. She lifted off, flew a couple of circuits around the pitch to warm herself up, before bewitching some of the balls to fly at her from different directions, testing her skill. She fly effortlessly, brilliantly on focus - that was until something in the increasing shadows caught her eye.

Leiko strolled confidently towards the Pitch, her broom resting on her shoulder. She held a stack of papers in one hand and was humming the lines to an old song her mom used to sing to her, when she was really little. She didn't look up until she was in the shadows of the Pitch. She saw Ornella already flying and smiled to herself. It'd be nice to have an actual keeper to try and stop her goals. She changed into her Quidditch robes and strolled out onto the field, mounted, and flew towards Ornella.
"Brilliant day," Leiko said bravely, slightly nervously. She stopped in front of Ornella. "Mind practicing with me?"

Ornella was still in the air, hovering distantly from Leiko. She recognized her eventually, her voice traveling up towards Nelly's ears. "Uh... Yeah, sure..." She kinda wanted to be on her own, but what could you say to your captain? No thanks, piss off? She doubted it. Slightly flustered by Leiko's arival, she travelled around in a few tight circles around the goals while she got ready.

Leiko picked up the Quaffle, holding it in her hands while she sat back on the broom. She rarely practiced with anyone unless it was her team's practice. Several times she asked herself what she was doing playing chaser - she liked to work alone and not rely on anyone. Being anything but a chaser would've been the better choice.
"I'll just take a few shots on goal," Leiko called to Ornella. She was having second doubts about intruding on Ornella's practice, but knew it would help form a better team. "Maybe we could just pass for a few minutes, to warm up?"

Ornella nodded, keeping her mouth shut. It seemed Her and Leiko didn't really stick well together, which wasn't good for the team. It was like something about Leiko rubbed her up the wrong way, but she had no idea what. As they tossed the ball to and 'fro, she hoped it wasn't as apparent to Leiko as it was to her. She doubted she'd lose her place on the team, unless she gave a bad preformance. Her captain would be fair, right?

Leiko fell silent, mentally counting the passes. When they reached fifty, she attempted to make a shot on goal. It was easy, not very demanding shot, and Ornella caught it easy enough. She threw it back to Leiko, who flew halfway down the Pitch and turned back. She flew towards the farthest right hoop, and to her surprise Ornella began to drift that way. About ten feet from the goals, she pulled up and made an easy shot through the middle pole. She hesitated, seeing Ornella's frustrated look.
"It's wise to stay in the middle until the last possible moment," Leiko said, trying to be helpful. "I went to one World Cup game where the chaser scored by heading to one pole and changing at the last moment. She scored like four times." Leiko clenched her jaw, hoping she didn't come off sounding too mean.

She blushed, and avoided eye contact. She gave a small nod, and flew back to the center. She carried on volleying the ball back and forth, the occasional shot coming her way, the occasional miss by them both occurring. The session seemed to drag in her mind, but the light was fading quickly so she guessed the time must be passing quicker than she thought.

Leiko watched Ornella's confidence approve, smiling slightly to herself. She could no longer score as easily as she had been - a great improvement. She tried a move she thought just -might- work - where the chaser flew up to the posts, rolled and threw to the opposite post than it looked like said chaser would throw to - and even that didn't threw Ornella off.
"Great job," Leiko said enthusiastically. "Brilliant." Her confidence for the team in general rose, too. She was eagerly awaiting their next match.

She smiled slighty, relaxing a bit now they had touched down. Quidditch always made her nervous. "You were great too..." she cringed slightly as she realised what an obvious comment she'sd amde. Of course she was good - better then her - she was captain wasn't she?

Leiko smiled, replacing the Quaffle. "It'll be an interesting first match in a month or so," Leiko commented, already thinking ahead to their first match. It was against Slytherin! Oh how that made her so nervous.
